Project Description

Project Brief

Design a street art / graffiti theme graphic to be placed on a t-shirt. You can use the wildstyle genre, or use a style of your choice. Use at least 1 design element and 1 design principle.

You can use a word, character image, political message, or any piece of your own artwork. Ensure your graphic is “contained” so it is placed easily on a t-shirt.

Student Approach

“The final design is a mix of two different types of graffiti / street art. Both pieces can stand alone but together provide a message that is clear and cohesive.

Keeping the octopus as a black and white piece allows the emphasis to be on the lettering, but the splash of color behind it brings the piece together. The typography is based of a wildstyle genre but its legible and simplified. The color choices were picked based on references of coral reefs and common graffiti combinations.” – Jessica Sanabria
